Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Eugen-Heinrich Bleyer (20 November 1896 – 18 March 1979) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Eugen-Heinrich Bleyer was captured by Yugoslavian troops in May 1945. In 1949 he was sentenced to death, but his sentence was changed to 18 years imprisonment and he was released in 1952.
