Eucalyptus scias, known as the Large-fruited red Mahogany is a common eucalyptus tree of the high rainfall coastal areas of New South Wales.

The bark is rough, resembling a "stringybark", but in firm elongated slabs, with shallow longitudinal furrows. Greyish or reddish brown in colour.

A small or fairly large tree. Sometimes a shrub in the poorer skeletal soils. The gumnuts are 1.4 by 1.7 cm in size, with exerted valves. Sub species include Eucalyptus scias subsp. callimastha and the rare Eucalyptus scias subsp. apoda.
