Ethem Sancak
Ethem Sancak (born 1958, Siirt[1]) is a Turkish businessman considered to have "close ties to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan".[2] He was completed his primary and secondary education in Siirt. He was graduated from Faculty of Business Administration, İstanbul University. After graduation he worked as a journalist in 1976-1978.[3]
He is the chairman of Turkey's Hedef Alliance Holding, a pharmaceutical and toiletry wholesaler he founded in 1987.[4] In early 2013 he was listed by Forbes as the 43rd richest person in Turkey.[5]
From 2004 to 2009 he was the owner of the Star Media Group, giving its Star newspaper a more pro-Justice and Development Party (AKP) line.[2][6]
