Esther Yoo

Esther Yoo (born 1994), recently named a BBC New Generation Artist,[1] is the youngest prizewinner (16 years old) of the 10th International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition in 2010.[2] In 2012, Yoo became one of the youngest ever prizewinners (17 years old) at the 75th Queen Elisabeth Competition.[3] Prior to Sibelius and Queen Elizabeth violin competitions, Yoo was awarded the First Prize at the 10th International Wieniawski Violin Competition for Young Violinists (junior section), European Union Award for Music Art for Youth, First Prize at the New York Music Competition in 2000.[4]

She is studying at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (Belgium), with Augustin Dumay. Esther was previously a student at the International School of Brussels.
