History

Eskra Emmetts won a Division 3 league in 1986 to gain promotion only to be relegated the following year. They remained in the lower tier of Tyrone football until ten years ago, losing two junior championship finals during that period including the 1996 decider. In 2003 the Emmetts won promotion from Division 3 winning the Junior championship having been beaten in the final the previous year by Urney. Following this they tasted Ulster action for the first time defeating Armagh champions Annaghmore in a preliminary round before losing to Monaghan Harps in the next round. The following year Eskra reached the intermediate decider to reach a championship final for the third year in a row only to be beaten by the future All-Ireland finalists Pomeroy. The next ten years proved to be a bumpy road but one in which Eskra managed to maintain their intermediate status. In 2012 they once again reached the championship decider where they lost out to current All-Ireland intermediate champions Cookstown after a replay. 2013 and it was a case of third time lucky as the Emmetts reached the Intermediate championship final for a third time and their second in a row, where they accounted for Urney and in doing so gained promotion to senior football for the first time ever.

The clubs most famous footballer is Kevy McDonagh.
