Ernest Pogorelc (1838–1892) was the first professional photographer from Ljubljana and of Slovene descent, and the most prolific Ljubljana studio photographer of the 19th century. He was entered in the craft registry in 1859. In 1864, he acquired two studios: one on Vienna Street (Slovene: Dunajska cesta) and the other on Railway Station Street (Kolodvorska cesta). In 1887, he moved to Zagreb and continued his studio work there. He died in Ljubljana.
