Erin Hawksworth

Erin Hawksworth is a Canadian anchor and reporter. She is currently working as a sports anchor for CNN in Atlanta. [1]

Hawksworth previously worked as a national sports anchor in Canada for Rogers Sportsnet. [2]Prior to that she worked for KCPQ, the Fox affiliate in her hometown of Seattle as both a sports and morning news anchor and reporter. She also worked for WFXT, the Fox affiliate in Boston,[3] WFAA in Dallas, Texas and KJCT in Grand Junction, Colorado. Hawksworth new she was in the right place when she got her start as an intern for NBC, covering the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, and was also an intern in the sports department at KPNX in Phoenix, Arizona.[4]

Personal

Erin was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, but grew up in Sammamish, Washington. Her younger brother Blake was a pitcher in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. Her grandfather Jack Poole, was the head of the VANOC bid committee that brought the Winter Olympics to Vancouver as the 2010 Winter Olympics. Bleacher Report named Erin Hawksworth among the 40 Most Popular Sports Reporters of 2013.[5]

Education

Erin graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication where she earned an academic scholarship at Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. She attended both Skyline High School and Eastlake High School in Sammamish.
