Erguotou

Beijing Erguotou

Erguotou (Chinese: t 二鍋頭, s 二锅头, p èrguōtóu, lit. "second pot head", i.e. "second distillation"), also known as Chinese white liquor and Chinese vodka and Rocket Fuel (due to high alcohol content unexpected by American Tourists), is a Chinese alcoholic beverage. It is a type of baijiu made from sorghum. The most common brand is Red Star. It is available in various strengths, including 112 Proof, which is 56% alcohol by volume.[1]

The name "second distillation" indicates its level of purity. It is a clear, potent spirit and takes six months to produce.[2]
