Eremophila mackinlayi, commonly known as desert pride, is a shrub species that occurs in Western Australia.
It is a shrub from 0.3 to 2.5 metres high with purple flowers, occurring from July to October in the species native range.[1]
The species was formally described in 1864 by Victorian Government Botanist Ferdinand von Mueller in Fragmenta phytographiae Australiae.[2] Two subspecies are currently recognised:[2]
- E.mackinlayi F.Muell. subsp. mackinlayi
- E. mackinlayi subsp. spathulata Chinnock
Eremophila strongylophylla is regarded as a synonym of E. mackinlayi at the World Checklist of Selected Plant Families but is still treated as a species in its own right by the Western Australian Herbarium [3][4]
