Eremophila freelingii, also known as Limestone Fuchsia or Rock Fuchsia Bush, is a shrub which is native to Australia. Despite its common names, it is not related to the Fuchsia.

Description

This species grows to 2 metres high. It has lanceolate to elliptic leaves with which are up to 8.5 cm long and produces white to lilac flowers with lilac spots in the throat in the spring and summer. These are followed by ovoid fleshy fruits, which are up to 9 mm in length and 4.5 mm in diameter.

Taxonomy

The first formal description of the species was published by Ferdinand von Mueller in 1859.

Distribution

It occurs in South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland and is often associated with mulga communities.
