Eremitten Nunatak
Eremitten Nunatak (72°11′S 27°13′E / 72.183°S 27.217°ECoordinates: 72°11′S 27°13′E / 72.183°S 27.217°E) is a nunatak 3 nautical miles (6 km) south of Balchen Mountain in the Sør Rondane Mountains of Antarctica. It was mapped by Norwegian cartographers in 1957 from air photos taken by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump, 1946–47, and named "Eremitten" (the hermit).[1]
