Erős Pista

The main ingredient: hot paprika

Erős Pista (Strong Steve) is the second most popular hot sauce in Hungary^[1] The Erős Pista Made from coarsely minced hot paprika and salt, and due to these ingredients it can be stored for a year in a refrigerator. It may be in a paste form.^[2]

Usage

The gulyás in a traditional "bogrács"

Hungarians use the Erős Pista for some examples in Lecsó, paprikás csirke (chicken paprikash) and soups like halászlé (fisherman's soup) and gulyás (goulash).
