Enriqueta Basilio
Norma Enriqueta Basilio, also known as Queta Basilio (born July 15, 1948 in Mexicali, Baja California) is a Mexican track and field athlete. She made history by being the first woman to light the Olympic Cauldron. She was the last torch-bearer the 19th Summer Olympic Games in Mexico City on October 12, 1968.
She was a national athletics champion in 80 metres hurdles. At the 1967 Pan American Games she came seventh in the hurdles.[1] She was considered in her times one of the best Mexican female athletes. She also carried the Olympic torch during the 2004 Athens Olympics relay in Mexico City.
She later involved in Mexican politics and as well as sports.
