Enrico Marone Cinzano

Count Enrico Marone Cinzano (April 5, 1963) was born in Turin, Italy to Count Alberto Paolo Rodolfo Marone Cinzano Alcorta[1] and Cristina Marone Cinzano, born Countess Camerana.

Family history

Enrico comes from a family of entrepreneurs, politicians and industrialists. He is a descendant of the Spanish royal family through his step Grandmother, Infanta Maria Cristina de Borbon y Battenberg, of Senatore Giovanni Agnelli, founder of FIAT, and Francesco Cinzano, founder of the world renowned eponymous vermouth[2] business created in 1757, Cinzano and one of the early Italian industrial staples.[3]

His grandfather, Enrico, was named the 1st Count of Marone by King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy on May 13, 1940 to mark his marriage to the Infanta Maria Cristina de Borbon y Battenberg. Other notable relatives include Argentinian diplomat Amancio Alcorta and former President of Argentina José Figueroa Alcorta.

On July 8, 1989 Enrico married Princess Mafalda of Hesse-Cassel, a distant cousin and descendant of Queen Victoria;[4] they are currently separated. Enrico lived in New York City for many years where he had a reputation for having a glamorous and extravagant lifestyle and lived in the landmark Bacchus House,[5] which was eventually sold to Facebook’s Sean Parker in 2011 for $20 million.[6]

Career

Enrico Marone Cinzano studied business administration at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He has worked in advertising, banking and real estate and is now an entrepreneur[7] having purchased and developed extremely high-end single residential real estate in Connecticut as well as New York City; in 2000, he co-founded and later sold Project Alabama. The exclusive fashion label’s designs included hand-stitched and embroidered clothing[8] and garnered respect of the fashion press and celebrities.[9] Project Alabama[10] was a runner up for the CFDA award[10] and was winner of the 2003 Eco Domani award.[11] Enrico has been identified as a "stylish financier" and has been on the ballot of Vanity Fair's best dressed list on multiple occasions.[12]

In 2011 Enrico was accepted as a member of ADI, an exclusive Industrial design organization.
