History

Ellistown & Ibstock United was formed in June 2013 following a merger between Ibstock United and Ellistown. The news of the merger was first announced by the two long serving chairmen of the respective clubs, Andy Roach and Neil Costello. Andy Roach, formerly of Ellistown FC is chairman of the new organisation and his counterpart, Neil Costello is now vice-chairman in the re-formation. The club's first season was more successful than either of the founding clubs' histories, finishing in third place of the East Midlands Counties League, qualifying for the FA Cup, FA Vase and Westerby Cup and also booking a place in the final of the Coalville Charity Cup.

The club play their first team games in the East Midlands Counties League at Terrace Road in Ellistown and The Welfare Ground in Ibstock plays host to the Leicestershire Senior League fixtures of the reserve team. The brand new club has maintained the official partnerships that Ibstock United formed in 2012 with Touchline Sports and the Matt Elliott Football Development Scheme with the management and coaching unit that goes with it.

The former Ibstock management team of Richard Hill and Paul Brown remained in the management hot seat with the coaching staff that Hill assembled in the 2012–13 season. Through the Matt Elliott Football Development Scheme, the club hosts a number of academies and development centres held in conjunction with the football club.
