Elliott Mark Whitehouse (born 27 October 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays for Nuneaton Town, on loan from Notts County, as a midfielder. Born in Worksop, Nottinghamshire he is a product of Sheffield United's academy and had a loan spells with York City and Alfreton Town before being released in 2014.
Career
Sheffield United
Whitehouse captained the Sheffield United youth team that reached the final of the FA Youth Cup in 2011, only to lose to Manchester United.[3][4] Top scorer for United's youth and reserve teams in the 2011–12 season, with a total of 17 goals,[3] Whitehouse made his first team debut on 1 January 2013 in a 2–2 away draw against Doncaster Rovers.[5] Having made five appearances during the 2012–13 season,[5] Whitehouse signed a new contract with United in June 2013.[6] Whitehouse joined League Two York City on an initial one-month youth loan on 12 September 2013,[7] and made his debut two days later in a 2–1 home defeat to Mansfield Town.[8] On 11 October 2013, his loan was extended until 5 January 2014, having made five appearances for York.[7][9][10] York opted against extending his loan when it expired,[10] and he finished his spell at the club with 18 appearances.[8] On 22 March 2014, Whitehouse joined Conference Premier team Alfreton Town on loan until the end of the 2013–14 season,[11] his debut coming two days later as a 63rd minute substitute in a 2–0 away defeat to FC Halifax Town.[8] Whitehouse made four appearances for Alfreton before returning to Sheffield United at the end of the season,[8] only to be released when his contract expired.[12]
Notts County
Whitehouse signed for League One team Notts County on a one-year contract on 6 August, after impressing on trial by scoring three goals in pre-season.[13] He joined Conference Premier side Nuneaton Town on a one-month loan and debuted the following day in a 1–0 defeat away to Forest Green Rovers.[14][15]
