Eli Erlick (born July 10, 1995) is a transgender activist, public speaker, and director of Trans Student Educational Resources.[1][2] [3]

Personal life

Eli Erlick was born on 10 July 1995. She reported that she told community members she was a girl at age 8, leading her to become a victim of bullying and harassment at school. While she presented as female, her teachers forced her into classes and programs with boys. She described herself as "shy" because of her unfair treatment. At age 13, she was able to transition to female. She quickly became present in media through legislation and co-founding the organization Trans Student Educational Resources.[4] In 2013, she reported that she is currently attending Pitzer College in Claremont, California.[5] Erlick is openly queer.[6]

Politics

Erlick has cited intersectional feminism as an influence. While advocating for comprehensive admissions rules for trans students at women's colleges, she has spoken about the importance of remaining critical of trans-inclusive policies.[7][8]

Trans Student Educational Resources

In 2011,[1] Erlick co-founded Trans Student Educational Resources, an organization "dedicated to intersectionally transforming the educational environment for trans and gender nonconforming students through advocacy and empowerment."[9] According to Erlick, TSER is best known for its infographic series and media work. She is currently the director and a board member of the organization.[3][10]
