Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann (born July 26, 1983) is an American fashion model, and socialite of Italian, Swedish, French and German descent. She is the daughter of Italian actress and model Isabella Rossellini and American Jonathan Wiedemann (a Harvard-educated Microsoft design manager and former fashion model) who were married from 1983 to 1986 after having met at a Calvin Klein photo shoot. Her maternal grandparents were Ingrid Bergman and Roberto Rossellini.[1]

Career

During her time at college, she began a modeling career. Her first contract was for Bruce Weber for Abercrombie & Fitch. In addition, she has also modeled for companies like Bill Blass and Ferragamo and for the fashion magazines Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. She spent two years modeling in Milan, becoming fluent in Italian, and travelling regularly to Paris and perfecting her French. Elettra has been a spokesmodel for Lancôme's since 2004 and done ads for Lancôme makeup, fragrance, and skin care worldwide. In 2012, Elettra hosted the Live Stream for the Met's Costume Institute Gala.

Elettra was also a co-founder of onefrickinday.org, a non-profit organization for special charity projects around the world.

She hosts a cooking web series called Elettra's Goodness on Vogue’s YouTube channel interviewing various celebrities.

She then created her own site and series called Impatient Foodie on cooking and lifestyle.

Personal life

Elettra was born and raised in New York City and attended high school at the United Nations International School, where she became fluent in French. Growing up, Elettra suffered from scoliosis, a condition that had also afflicted her mother, and had to wear a back brace 23 hours a day from the ages of twelve to seventeen.[2]

Elettra attended college at The New School, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. She attended a two year graduate school program at the London School of Economics in order to receive a master's degree in biomedicine.[3][4]
