Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand
The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Thai: การไฟฟ้าฝ่ายผลิตแห่งประเทศไทย, is a state enterprise that owns and manages the majority of Thailand's electricity generation capacity, as well as the nation's transmission network.
EGAT is managed by the Ministry of Energy.
Most of EGAT's electricity is sold to the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (which supplies the Bangkok region) and the Provincial Electricity Authority (which supplies the rest of Thailand).
