The French company Electravia - Hélices E-Props produces electric propulsion systems for aviation. Since 2014 the company has designed and manufactured light carbon propellers for ultralight, motorgliders, paramotors, airships, UAV and light airplanes.[1]
By 2015 electric Electravia aircraft had earned three World "firsts" and five world records. The company is based at Sisteron's airfield (Provence, south-east of France), and earns almost half of its annual sales from exports, to 50 different countries.
Products
The founder, Anne Lavrand, the Technical Manager, Christian Vandamme and the Research Manager, Jérémie Buiatti develop and market complete electric propulsion systems for aviation, including electric engines E-MOTOR with E-SCREEN instruments; KOKAM Lithium-Polymer integrated batteries (with BMS & PCM) and E-BATTS batteries; some electric kits for paramotors, such as the E-PARAM range (E-Fenix, E-Spider, Kermelec) and innovative propellers for leisure aviation, including the Hélices E-PROPS and for UAVs, the UAV-PROPS.
BL1E Electra
The Electravia team, organized at this time in an association called APAME, first flew its "Electra" electric-powered open-cockpit airplane on Sunday, 23 December 2007 at Aspres sur Buech airfield, Hautes Alpes, France. Test pilot Christian Vandamme flew the strut-equipped aircraft for 48 minutes, covering 50 km (31 mi). The BL1E "Electra" is powered by an 18-kW (24 hp) disk-brushed electric engine driven by a 47 kg (104 lb) KOKAM Lithium-Polymer battery power pack.[2][3][4] The BL1E "Electra is the first registered aircraft in the world powered by electric motor with batteries. It was the first electric realization of the company.[5]
MC15E Cri-Cri

On 5 September 2010, pilot Hugues Duval established a world speed record for electric aircraft with his twin engine MC15E CriCri “E-Cristaline”. The aircraft was equipped with Electravia engines, controllers, batteries and propellers. During the Pontoise Air show, a top speed of 262 km/h (141 kt) was recorded by Aero Club de France organizers. Then, on 25 June 2011, during the official flight presentation at 2011 Paris Air Show (Salon du Bourget), Duval established a new world record of 283 km/h (175.46 mph)[6]
Electro Trike
The company offers an electric powered ultralight trike, based on the DTA Alizés.[7]
Propulsion systems
Beginning of 2014, 58 aircraft have been equipped with Electravia propulsion systems: for example the MC30E Firefly.[8][9][10] in August 2011, and the electric motorglider ElectroLight2.[11][12] In December 2012, the eUP Aviation GREEN-1, Canada’s first battery-powered electric aircraft, took off at Pitt Meadows Airport (British Columbia), with an Electravia's electric solution.[13][14]
E-PROPS propellers

Since 2008, Electravia designs and manufactures full carbon propellers for aviation: fixed pitch, ground adjustable pitch and variable pitch. A complete range of propellers for paramotors, ultralights, aircraft and UAV is designed and manufactured in the Sisteron's workshop (1.700 m²). Those E-Props propellers are the lightest on the market.[15][16] In 2015, production is about 4.200 blades / year. The E-Props propellers are sold in more than 50 countries. E-Props is also known for its customized carbon propellers optimized for customers specifications (especially in the UAV domain).
