Eldbrooke United Methodist Church is a historic church in Washington, D.C. It is located at 4100 River Road, Northwest, Washington, D.C., in the Tenleytown neighborhood.
History
The first church on this site, was called Mount Zion Methodist, established in 1840, and was rebuilt after the Civil War. A larger church was built there in 1899, and the name was changed to Eldbrooke, after Aquila Eld and Philip Brooke. The Spanish Colonial Revival building, designed by Howard Wright Cutler, was built in 1926, and was purchased by The City Church in 2008.[2]
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
