TV and film appearances
- The song "Forget Myself" is featured in a trailer and soundtrack for the film Southland Tales.
- The song "Grounds for Divorce" was used in Left 4 Dead / Channel 4 drama series The Devil's Whore / Desperate Housewives / House and 2009 promos for "House" Season 6 / CBS promos for NCIS: Los Angeles / Rescue Me Season 21 Episode 5 (Jump) / Burn After Reading movie trailer / Top Gear "Trails for Rallysport" segment / Codemasters' video game Colin McRae: Dirt 2 / Channel 5 broadcasting of the film S.W.A.T. / Discovery Channel's Heist and Match of the Day / BBC series Blood, Sweat and Takeaways.
- The song "One Day Like This" was used in a trailer for The Soloist, a 2009 film. It has also been used for the main highlights of Big Brother 9 in the UK, in adverts for the National Geographic Channel and for the last scene of Waterloo Road in series 4. It was also featured in the an Apple MacBook Air advertisement in 2010.
- The song "Any Day Now" was used in the 3rd season of FX television show Nip/Tuck.
- The song "Mirrorball" was used throughout the BBC documentaries James May on the Moon and James May at the Edge of Space as well as the song "One Day Like This" being used in the trailer for James May on the Moon.
- The band featured in the 10th show – series 2, of the Channel 4 music TV series Live From Abbey Road on 30 August 2009 performing "Grounds for Divorce", "The Bones of You" and "One Day Like This".
- The British arts magazine programme The South Bank Show focussed an episode to the band on ITV1 on 15 November 2009.
- Guy Garvey featured in the BBC Radio 4 programme "In search of the holy quail", highlighting his love of birdwatching.
- Garvey talked about his experiences of being in a band in the BBC Two programme I'm in a Rock 'n' Roll Band!
- Garvey presented a BBC Radio 4 documentary "The Honest Musician's Fear of Accidental Plagiarism" first broadcast on Thursday 27 January 2011. The program was about accidental copyright infringement by musicians and songwriters.[24]
- "Puncture Repair" featured in the last episode of Series 2 of the BBC drama Silk.
- "The Night Will Always Win" was featured in the introduction to the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
- First Steps is the BBC theme song for its coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics.[23]
- The song Snooks was used in the 2009 movie Dare.
