El Capitan, at 9,901 feet (3,018 m) above sea level is a peak in the Sawtooth Range of Idaho. The peak is located in the Sawtooth Wilderness of Sawtooth National Recreation Area in Blaine County. The peak is located 1.19 mi (1.92 km) south-southeast of Peak 10,052, its line parent. It is 1.9 mi (3.1 km) east of Snowyside Peak and 1.4 mi (2.3 km) west of McDonald Peak. El Capitan rises above the eastern end of Alice Lake.[3][4][5]
