Ekaterina "Katya" Igorevna Starshova (Russian: Екатерина "Катя" Игоревна Старшова; born October 28, 2001 in Moscow) is a Russian actress known for playing the role of Polina "Pugovka" Vasnetsova in the Russian sitcom, Daddy's Daughters.

Early life

Starshova was born Ekaterina Starshova on October 28, 2001 in Moscow, Russia. Her interests include ice skating. Starshova is extremely interested in the sport and has been learning how to skate for two years. Katya currently participates in the Junior Ballet on Ice 'Aleko', and has considerable success among fans of this ballet. It's been confirmed that Katya represented Russia in an international dance competition in Paris, France and reached second place.

Acting career

In 2007, the then 6-year old Starshova was given the role of Polina "Pugovka" Vasnetsova in the Russian TV series, Daddy's Daughters (Papiny docki), alongside Andrei Leonov, Nonna Grishaeva, Miroslava Karpovich, Anastasia Sinavaeva, Darya Melnikova, and Elizaveta Arzamasova. Charming and direct, the little heroine won the hearts of millions of TV viewers across Russia.

Starshova has also apepared in commercials and other TV shows. In 2009, Starshova was awarded the role of Tanya in the film, Black Lightning. Two years later, in 2011, she appeared in its sequel, Black Lightning 2, where she reprised her role as Tanya.

Personal life

Katya goes to the center of aesthetics and beauty of "Katyusha". According to her grandmother, this center is very helpful. "Katya was a quiet girl, all for my mother kept. Then emancipated, she became independent", says one of Starshova's relatives.

Besides skating, Starshova also enjoys poetry. One of her favorite poems is called, Beslan. "I explained to my grandmother what a tragedy it was and I really wanted to speak well", Starshova said.

Katya also loves pets. Whenever her grandmother drops by a visit, she always plays with her family's dog and cat, since her grandmother has no pets at her home, due to a lack of time. She is also recognized in the streets and is often asked for signatures. The young actress signs as follows: draw the sun and inside it says the capital letters of your name.
