Changes of group affiliation

The first change in group membership of the Eighth parliament occurred when Norica Nicolai, a Romanian MEP and a member of the National Liberal Party left the EPP group and rejoined the ALDE group on the 7th of July, 2014.[2]

On 2 October 2014, Richard Sulík of the Slovakian Freedom and Solidarity party, left the ALDE and expressed his intention to join the ECR.[3]

On 16 October 2014, it was reported that Latvian MEP Iveta Grigule had left the EFDD group to join the EPP. This move meant that the EFDD group contained MEPs from only six member states and therefore fell below the minimum level; the European Parliament authorities declared the group dissolved.[4]
