Edward Vigil is a legislator in the U.S. state of Colorado. Elected to the Colorado House of Representatives as a Democrat in 2008, Vigil represents House District 62, which encompasses a large portion of the San Luis Valley and portions of eastern Pueblo, Colorado.[2]

Legislative career

2008 election

Edward Vigil defeated Rocky White in the contested Democratic primary in August, taking 66 percent of votes cast.[3] Vigil faced Republican Randy Jackson in the November 2008 general election. Vigil's candidacy was endorsed by the Denver Post,[4] and he won with 58 percent of the popular vote.[5]

2009 legislative session

For the 2009 legislative session, Vigil was named to seats on the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and the House Local Government Committee.[6]

2012 election

In the 2012 General Election, Representative Vigil faced Republican challenger Tim Walters. Vigil was elected by a wide margin of 61% to 39%.[7][8]
