Educa is a software company located in Wellington, New Zealand. They provide an eportfolio product for early childhood centres to put children's learning stories online,[1] share them with parents and track the children's progress in regards to Te Whāriki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum. Furthermore Educa's online portfolio allows the wider family (known as whānau in New Zealand) to stay up-to-date with the child, which is essential to many Kiwis, seeing that New Zealand is a young country with many immigrants with family abroad (see Immigration to New Zealand).

Educa has proven interesting in the way that it is the first online portfolio management system endorsed by the Early Childhood Council,[2] the largest representative body of licensed, quality early childhood education centres in New Zealand. Likewise Educa has gained recognition for its innovative approach to portfolio management from Grow Wellingtons Bright Ideas challenge,[3] awarded as the winner in the Education category.

Educa aims to expand its business into foreign markets such as Australia,[4] where the early childhood curriculum (EYLF) is very similar[5] and with parts adopted from the New Zealand Curriculum.[6]
