Edmundo Joaquim Pascoal da Silva (born 12 October 1963) is a Portuguese retired footballer who played mainly as a centre-back.

Over the course of 11 seasons, Edmundo amassed Primeira Liga totals of 227 games and five goals, nearly half of those in Vitória de Setúbal.

Football career

Born in Setúbal, he arrived at Vitória de Setúbal at age 18, slowly becoming an undisputable starter in the defence of the Sadinos. In 1986, he sign with Portuguese powerhouse Sport Lisboa e Benfica and earned his place after a 7-1 defeat in Alvalade, replacing Oliveira and partnering with Dito in the rest of the season, but with the arrival of Carlos Mozer he lost his place.[1][2]

In 1988, Edmundo returned to Setúbal, in a exchange deal with Hernâni Neves going in the other direction, but stayed just one season, having three-year spells, first at Belenenses and then Estrela da Amadora.
