Edmund Powell

The Rt Rev Edmund Nathanael Powell, DD was Bishop of Mashonaland [1] from 1908 to 1910.[2]
He was born in Buckhurst Hill on 2 September 1859,[3] educated at Winchester and Trinity College, Oxford [4]

and ordained in 1884. His first post was a curacy in Chelmsford [5] after which he was Priest in charge of the Becton Mission.[6] He was then Vicar of St Stephen, Upton Park[7] before his elevation to the Episcopate.[8] On his return he held further Incumbencies at St Saviour, Poplar and St Nicholas Castle Hedingham. He died on 11 April 1928.[9]
