Edmilson da Silva Melo (born 2 June 1980) is a former Brazilian footballer.

Career

Edmilson played twice for Flamengo at 2002 Copa Libertadores.[1][2] He also played for Brasiliense.[3]

He and brother Niberto, came to Honduras to Marathon and after one season they left to Motagua because they did not fit into Manuel Keosseian's tactics.[4] Edmilson was almost left out of the Motagua squad after he did not appear to preseason training with no excuse. After he was accepted back into Motagua's training, he injured himself, leaving no other choice but to be cut from the team as he takes up a foreigner spot in Motagua. He was later transferred to Real España.

Before left for Honduras, he played at Pinheiros Futebol Clube of Espírito Santo.[5]

He moved to China League One club Hunan Billows in June 2010.[6]
