The edible bullfrog (Pyxicephalus edulis) is a species of frog in the Pyxicephalidae family.

It is found in Botswana, Cameroon, Gambia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and is possibly found in; Benin, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Namibia, Sudan, Togo, and Uganda.

Its natural habitats are dry savanna, moist savanna, subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, swamps, intermittent freshwater lakes, intermittent freshwater marshes, arable land, pastureland, ponds, canals and ditches, and man-made karsts.
