Edgar W. Dawson (birth registered October→December 1931) birth registered in Great Ouseburn district,[1] is an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1950s, playing at representative level for Great Britain, and English League XIII, and at club level for York, as a Loose forward/Lock, i.e. number 13, during the era of contested scrums.
Playing career
International honours
Edgar Dawson represented the English League XIII while at York in 1956 against France, and in 1958 against France, and won a cap for Great Britain while at York in the 21-10 victory over Australia at Central Park, Wigan on Saturday 17 November 1956.[2]
County Cup final appearances
Edgar Dawson played Loose forward/Lock in York's 8-15 defeat by Huddersfield in the 1957 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1957–58 season at Headingley Stadium, Leeds on Saturday 19 October 1957.
