Eddy Navia

Eddy Navía Dalence (born 6 September 1949) is a Bolivian composer and musician.

Navia was the first Charango player to play classical compositions. In 1978, the self-titled CD Savia Andina, containing works of classical composers interpreted in an Andean style, was released.

In 1989 he left Savia Andina, and went to the United States, where he and Alcides Mejia joined Sukay, which was active until 2014. Navia also released three solo albums: "Eddy Navía en charango", "Mozart en Macchu Picchu" and "Eddy Navía & Gerardo Arias".

In 2012 y 2013 he was nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for his folk albums, "Piano y charango" and "Carnaval en Piano Charango" recorded with the Cuban virtuoso, Chuchito Valdés.
