ecobee or ecobee Inc. is a company founded in 2007 that sells Wi‑Fi-enabled, programmable thermostats for residential and commercial applications.[1][2] [3]

ecobee released its first smartphone app[4] in 2009 which allows users to control the thermostat remotely.[5]

ecobee has been recognized with a number of awards, including the Deloitte Technology Green 15 Award for Canadian green technology companies,[6] and the 2011 AHR Expo Innovation Award in the category of building automation.[7]

In 2012 ecobee launched an energy reporting service for users of its residential thermostats called Home IQ.[8]
