Ecklonia is a genus of kelp (brown algae) belonging to the family Lessoniaceae.
There are nine species:
- Ecklonia biruncinata
- Ecklonia brevipes
- Ecklonia cava
- Ecklonia fastigiata
- Ecklonia kurome
- Ecklonia maxima
- Ecklonia muratii
- Ecklonia radiata
- Ecklonia stolonifera
Ecklonia species produce eckol-type phlorotannins.[2]
