Ebenezer, Brampton
Ebenezer is a former Hamlet in Brampton, in Ontario's Peel Region.
In recent years, the locality has undergone considerable building development. Ebenezer, with Brampton, became part of the newly established Regional Municipality of Peel in 1974.
Former Ebenezer Schoolhouse
Among noted, local features are the former Ebenezer Schoolhouse, built in 1892. This former Schoolhouse is a structure made memorable by its bell-tower.
Council Chambers
After its school function became redundant, the former Schoolhouse served as Council Chambers for Toronto Gore Township until 1973. This function was no longer needed when local government was reorganized in Ontario, when, notably, Peel Region was created.
Ebenezer Community Hall
The building, designated under the Brampton Heritage Board, is now known as Ebenezer Community Hall,[1] located at 4494 Ebenezer Road, Brampton.
