East Malven railway station is located on the Glen Waverley line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the eastern Melbourne suburb of Malvern East opening as Eastmalvern on 3 February 1929, being renamed East Malvern in February 1972.[1]

East Malvern was the terminus of the line until it was extended to Glen Waverley on 5 May 1930.[2]

During part of the 1950s and 1960s there was a small extra platform at the down end of platform 1, making a 1/3 of platform 1 an island platform. 1-3 car trains could fit on the platform, but usually a single car Tait (Doggie)[3] would run an East Malvern to Glen Waverley shuttle, with most trains at weekends, nights etc. terminating at East Malvern, and every second or third train from the city would have a connection to Glen Waverley.

East Malvern was upgraded to a Premium station on 21 August 1995.[4] The footbridge situated at the southern end of the station, was replaced in 2009 to accommodate the widening of the Monash Freeway.[5]
