Earthdance is the world's largest synchronized music and dance festival for peace. Taking place annually in over 300 locations and 60 countries, Earthdance joins participants worldwide in a synchronized Prayer for Peace.[1] Every year, musicians, DJs, artists, and speakers convene at local Earthdance events to share inspiration and ideas to "build a world culture of peace." [2]

Expanding beyond the Global Festival for Peace through its Earthdance Global LLC and Earthdance International 501c3, Earthdance is building its international community through social networking, collaboration, media programs and commerce, and connecting the community with resources and solutions toward a socially just and environmentally sustainable culture of peace.

History

Earthdance was conceived in 1996 by event producer/musician Chris Deckker, with a vision to unite the whole world in peace through the universal platform of dance and music. Earthdance is now the largest global synchronized music and peace event in the world. Since the first multi-location event in 1997 with 22 cities in 18 countries, Earthdance has been held in over 500 locations in 80 countries. Originally inspired by the global electronic music scene, the events now encompass a diverse cross-section of musical genres including both international styles and artists, and locally grown talent.

Mission

Earthdance International promotes global peace, sustainability and social justice through an international online community and network of event producers participating in an annual multi-location music and peace festival. Attendees at all events take part in a synchronized Prayer for Peace, and join in a common celebration of community, collaboration and evolution toward a Culture of Peace through the universal languages of music, art and dance.

The organization is further developing its mission by building an online community, producing media programs, supporting research on the phenomenon of synchronized meditation practice involving thousands of participants, and establishing new forms of philanthropic support for peace, sustainability and social justice through entertainment and media partnerships.[3]
