ETV Telugu (Telugu: ETV తెలుగు) is the first 24 general Entertainment Telugu chanel which revolutionalised the Regional Television Industry with its programming quality and broadcasting standards.
Popularity
ETV Telugu was launched in August 1995. It is the most popular among the Telugu channels. Most of the popular serials in ETV are handwork of Suman, Son of Ramoji Rao. Despite having a commendable viewership in its early days, Suman seems to have single handedly brought down the TRP of ETV by his super bloated ego. He is a regular writer/songwriter/cartoonist/director/producer for almost all the soaps/series. With his questionable talent in each of these fields and an all access pass to a humongous family fortune, there seems to be no end in near to the plight of ETV viewers. The cream part of ETV interests in the spiritual serials like Bhagavatam, Shiva Leelalu and other spiritual live shows keep up the fame of ETV. It also shows Vaastu and Astrology related program called Shubamastu. ETV also concentrates on child viewers with its witty shows like panchatantram,cartoons etc.
