EPiServer is a web content management system software company that provides web content management and e-commerce software. The company was founded in 1994 and has offices in Sweden, United Kingdom, United States, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Netherlands & Australia.

The EPiServer software is built on Microsoft .NET technologies and supports both WebForms and MVC, with HTML5, JavaScript and REST. It can be completely managed using a web browser. The current version is EPiServer 7.5, released on 3 December 2013.

EPiServer has received industry recognition among Web Content Management (WCM) vendors in the 2011 Gartner report, "Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management".

The EPiServer World Network[1] has some 22,000 members and is a technical resource for developers and administrators.

EPiServer’s architecture offers plug-in support by third-party vendors. Several products within areas such as PIM, SEO, SEM, search and DAM are offered, supported and maintained by vendors from all over the world.

In February 2012, EPiServer announced that they have acquired Mediachase, an Commerce framework provider from United States, after a longtime partnership. Mediachase becomes part of EPiServer US, and their eCF framework is being tightly integrated into EPiServer CMS.[2]

In May 2012, EPiServer acquired 200OK AB, a company that had built the search and big data product Truffler which was offered both as Software-as-a-Service and as an on-premise solution. The product was rebranded as EPiServer Find.[3]
