EAE Business School is a business school, located in Barcelona and Madrid, Spain. EAE stands for Escuela de Administración de Empresas. Created in 1958 it is one of the most prestigious business schools in Spain and ranked 3rd best business school in Spain after IESE and " Instituto de Empresa " according to the MERCO Ranking 2012.[1] QS World University Rankings ranked EAE as number 67 in the QS Global 200 Business Schools Report in 2012.[2]
It is a non-profit-making institution, headed by a board of trustees consisting of the Ministry of Culture and Technology, the Chamber of Commerce, and eminent academic and business personalities.[3] It is associated with the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the University of Barcelona, and Universidad Camilo José Cela in Madrid. Besides the Barcelona and Madrid campuses, the school also has branches in Mexico, Peru and Colombia.[4]
History
EAE Business School was founded in 1958 in response to the needs arising from the dramatic growth of the industrial and service sectors.
With more than 50 years' experience in executive and business education EAE is today an international Business School that has provided training for more than 56,000 executives and managers. Every year students from more than 45 nationalities gain professional qualification at EAE to hold positions of responsibility within the business world.
Since January 2007 EAE is part of Grupo Planeta - world leader in generation and publishing of management contents- that promotes its business higher education projects. Grupo Planeta highlight EAE sound experience and places it in an privileged position among the Spanish and International business schools.[5]

UPC Associated Centre in Barcelona
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) was founded in 1971 and since then it has become a benchmark for technical studies in Spain. Teaching and research activity at UPC is considered among the best in Europe.
More than 40 different degrees, three-year and four-year qualifications, and more than 10 doctorate programmes can be taken at UPC. Teaching and research activities are an international benchmark for engineers, architecture offices, high-tech companies, production processes, logistics, telecommunications or information systems.

Madrid campus
EAE Madrid campus site is located right in the financial centre of the city (Menéndez Pidal, 43) very close to Plaza de Castilla. EAE Business School Madrid campus offers a choice of European Master Courses adapted to the European Higher Education Area in partnership with Camilo José Cela University (UCJC) at the campus in Madrid. At EAE Madrid students have also access to great cultural and sports facilities located at the UCJC campus.
Students from all over the world who are seeking an international career are attracted by the courses on offer at EAE Madrid. Madrid is Spain's political, economic and social centre and it offers the possibility to have a training experience in an international city.
UCJC Partner Centre in Madrid
Camilo José Cela University was established in 2000 and it is part of the Education Institution SEK -San Estanislao de Kostka- founded in 1892. UCJC currently offers a wide range of academic qualifications, more than 40 graduate programmes and 50 postgraduate programmes. UCJC also offers other courses aimed at university students and professionals through its special professorships and Institutions.
There are 12 graduate degrees adapted to the European Area and 10 European Master degrees delivered in partnership with EAE. EAE and UCJC have put together their educational experience and specialised knowledge to design, develop and deliver the master programme adapting their university systems to the new European framework.

Rankings
In 2012 the MERCO ranking moved EAE up one position to being the 3rd best business school in Spain after IESE and " Instituto de Empresa ".[1]
The Master of Marketing Management is ranked second in Spain in its category and it is considered to be the best master en marketing taught in Catalonia. For the sixth consecutive year, this Master is among the best in Spain. The newspaper pointed to a survey of the program that includes its ranking on a European level and its age, since this is the first marketing program taught in this country.[6]
The Master of Business Management and Sales Management has been second in its category of Business and is the best program given in this area in Catalonia. It has held onto second position for the past six editions and is also the oldest in Spain for that given program. The paper has emphasized the teaching of EAE "based on the best business skills development." [6]
The Master of Human Resource Management was given the title of third place and is the best human resources program taught in Catalonia. It has enjoyed six consecutive years ranked among the best in the field. The paper has highlighted "the presence of teachers and managers from this area." [6]
The Master of Communication consolidates third place in its category. The classification stressed the high demand of requests for access to participants who wish to study the program and especially "the tradition and quality of EAE." [6]
In 2010 five EAE programs are among the best according to El Mundo. This is because the entry of the Master of Operations and Logistics is third in its category as well. It is the first time this program has been selected among the best in its category. Among other reasons, the paper has highlighted "an unparalleled faculty." [6]
El Mundo has also included a guide to MBA programmes. EAE has been highlighted as one of the most recommended business schools in which a candidate can pursue an MBA. The paper stresses that "what stands out, is the international programme, the flexibility of the methodologies, the status of SEA and Scholarship Program."
