Eugene Brown Erwin High school was a public high school in Center Point, Alabama. Erwin served grades 7-12 in the Jefferson County Board of Education (Alabama). Van Phillips was the principal, heading a faculty of 70 teachers responsible for instructing 1,216 students. After the opening of Center Point High School in 2011, the school was converted into a middle school.
Athletics
Erwin High School fields teams in Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Cheerleading, Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, Softball, Track, Tennis, Golf and Soccer. The Eagles' wrestling team won Alabama High School Athletic Association state championships in 1992 and 1999. The varsity football team won area championships in the AHSAA playoffs in 1980, 1988, 1989, 1995, 1996 and 1997. The Girls Basketball team won the 2010-2011 State Basketball Championship.
