ŶThe E-ACT Burnham Park Academy (BPA) is a co-educational Academy and sixth form in Burnham, Buckinghamshire, England. A small part of the campus is located in neighbouring Slough, Berkshire. It is an academy sponsored by E-ACT, and has approximately 666 pupils.[1]
Accreditation
In September 2005 Burnham Upper was designated by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) as a specialist Sports College.[2]
In February 2007 and March 2011 an Ofsted inspection judged Burnham Upper to be "inadequate '" and recommended that it be placed on special measures.[3] However, a follow up inspection in December 2008 judged the school to be "satisfactory" and no longer in need of special measures.[4]
April 2012 E-Act officially take over the school and the school is called Burnham Pack Academy. As it was a new school the special mesaures ended.
January 2014 it was rated 'needs to improve' by OFSTED.[5] Summer 2014 40% pupils achieved 5 A to C including English and Maths. Only 75 percent of high achievers achieved 5 A to C GCSEs including maths and english.
Phone mast
The E-ACT Burnham Park Academy is one of several Buckinghamshire schools which host mobile phone masts. Contracts between Buckinghamshire County Council and various mobile phone operators generate an income of £145,000 per annum, of which about £59,000 comes from contracts for masts that are installed in schools.[6][7]
Rename
In April 2012 E-ACT became the academy sponsor for the "Burnham Upper School" and the school officially converted to The E-ACT Burnham Park Academy.
