E–The Environmental Magazine, or simply E, was a bimonthly magazine aimed at a readership concerned about the environment, and those who want to know what they can do to make a difference. It claims to have won and been nominated for 13 Independent Press Awards.[2]
The magazine was first published in 1990 and was produced bimonthly currently by a staff of six full-time and two part-time employees as well as college interns. It was a full-color publication printed on recycled paper, with a website (www.emagazine.com). It was published by the nonprofit (501-c-3) organisation Earth Action Network, Inc.[2] until it ceased print publication in 2013.[3]
The magazine also produced a nationally syndicated weekly column called EarthTalk. Created by publisher Doug Moss in 2003, the column covers much the same issues and topics as E Magazine but in a question-and-answer format. EarthTalk is distributed free -- by request only -- to 1,800 newspapers, magazines, websites and blogs throughout the U.S. and Canada, and is also available online.[4]
