Dzanani is a town and also the name of a region in Venda, Limpopo province, South Africa. Dzanani was named after MuDzanani, which is one of the main surnames in Venda. The language predominantly spoken is TshiVenda, which is one of the 11 official SA languages. It is a warm place that can also get very hot in summer and cold in winter.

Dzanani is about 40 km from the town of Thohoyandou, about 50 km from Makhado, and about 420 km from Pretoria, about 690 km from Harare in Zimbabwe. It is 150 km from Polokwane International Airport and about 460 from O. R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. There is a good tarred road leading to Dzanani and other nearby areas.

Pap, rice and bread are the main staple food in the area. Fruits and other vegetables are found in abundance in this part of the country.

Dzanani used to be one of the 4 districts in the former Republic of Venda, along with Vuwani, Mutale and Thohoyandou. Dzanani has been the home of VhaVenda kings for centuries. Visit Dzanani for the very interesting Venda traditional songs and dances. There are many interesting places to visit while in Dzanani like, Dzana ruins or Dzata ruins which is located in Dzanani. Dzata ruins is now one of the national monuments in South Africa; Lake Fundudzi; Phiphidi Waterfalls; the breathing stone; Kruger national park; and most importantly Mapungubwe heritage site and game park.

Dzanani provide fair shopping. There is a big Spar grocery shop, shoprite u save and other grocery shops. Talking about food, KFC and Somemething fishy may deal with your hunger; ready to eat fruits are in abundance, which makes fruits to be very cheap.

There are banking facilities, fully functional Standard Bank and First National Bank are available and open normal hours; in a addition to these 2 functional banks, there is ABSA and Nedbank ATMs.

Dzanani post office is a fully and big functional post office. There is Mphephu police station, Dzanani Magistrate court and Regional Municipality offices. There are furniture shops, car parts shops, medical facilities, and other necessary facilities.

Schools and entertainment

There are several Primary schools, Secondary schools and even crèches. Makhado Multi Purpose college and Mavhoi Technical college are available and offer a lot of different courses for students from all over the province and the country as a whole. There is a stadium and a community hall.
