Dutch National Cycle Routes

The network of Dutch National Cycle Routes[1] (Landelijke Fietsroutes or LF-Routes) is the national cycling route network of the Netherlands. These long-distance cycling routes criss-cross the country and are primarily intended for recreational multi-day bike tours, such as cycling holidays.

LF-routes have been signposted for travel in both directions since 2007. In order to distinguish the two directions, the signpost inscribes one direction with the letter 'a', the other with the letter ‘b’, e.g. the North Sea Route LF1 from Den Helder to Sluis is called LF1a, while in the other direction it is called LF1b.
