Duodopa

Duodopa is an upcoming medication for Parkinson's Disease, developed by Abbott Laboratories. It is a new formulation of the current gold-standard PD treatment, carbidopa/levodopa, which is delivered by a novel intra-intestinal pump. The system is surgically inserted and programmed to deliver doses at specific times (similar to an insulin pump), and the external controller makes dose adjustments simple and non-invasive.^[1][2]
