Duck face
A Duck face is a trend followed by Internet users, which is mainly practiced on profile pictures in social networks. For a Duckface lips are pressed together as in a Sch-moll or pout and often simultaneously sucked cheeks, with the aim to act both self-deprecating and sexy. Since the meaning and aesthetics of Duck Faces is doubted by many, observers has formed a counter-movement to do so. This calls himself anti Duckface. This movement claims that a Duckface THAT CONDITION stupid and unappealing. In contrast, people practicing the Duckface hope to express through these expressions of sympathy, attractiveness and friendliness.[1]
Recently Oxford Dictionary added Duck face as a new word.[2] [3]
According to patheos, Duck face is a fake expression which is without true emotion and a facade of fake happiness. They criticise Duck face as an objectification of smile.[4]
