Drew Pearson is a Grammy-nominated American songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He has worked with some of the biggest names in pop, alternative rock, and country music including Katy Perry, OneRepublic, Zac Brown Band, Phillip Phillips, The Veronicas, and others.[1] His collaboration with American Idol (season 11) winner Phillip Phillips and songwriter Greg Holden produced the single "Home", which has been certified 4X Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and made Phillips the first male contestant in American Idol's history to sell at least 3 million copies of a single.[2][3] "Home" is the highest selling debut of an "American Idol" coronation song, and held the #1 position on 6 different Billboard charts as well as iTunes.[4]

Early life

He grew up in Wadsworth, OH, located 45 miles South of Cleveland, OH, and is a self-taught guitarist, pianist, bassist, and drummer. After High School, his musical aspirations led him to relocate to Phoenix, AZ, where after stints in bands he enrolled at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences, ultimately graduating in 2006. He soon moved to Los Angeles where he gained the bulk of his recording studio experience with record producer Greg Wells.[5]

Music career

Pearson's first big break came in 2011, where along with songwriters Anne Preven and Wyatt Durrette, he co-wrote "Where The River Goes" by Zac Brown Band which was featured in the motion picture re-make of Footloose and received a nomination for "Best Song Written for Visual Media" at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards.[6]

Pearson co-wrote two songs ("Home" and "Can't Go Wrong") on Phillip Phillips debut album The World From The Side of the Moon, which was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2013.[7]
