- John Long (c. 1419 – 20 September 1478) was an English politician.
- Robert Long (c. 1391 – 31 March 1447) was an English politician.
- Anne Long (c. 1681 – 22 December 1711) was a well-known figure in London society.
- Sir James Long, 2nd Baronet (c. 1617 – 22 January 1692) was an English politician and Royalist soldier.
- Henry Long was High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset.
- William Pole-Tylney-Long-Wellesley, 5th Earl of Mornington (7 October 1813 – 25 July 1863) was a British nobleman.
In 1863, Henry Wellesley, 1st Earl Cowley inherited the former Long family estate of Draycot Cerne in Wiltshire from his kinsman the 5th Earl of Mornington, and he lived in retirement until his death on 15 July 1884.
